PM Modi’s Midnight Visit To Inspect Development At Home Turf Varanasi Takes Locals By Surprise | WATCH

PM Modi, who is on a two-day landmark visit to the poll-bound state, said it is the government's endeavour to create the best possible infrastructure for the sacred city.

New Delhi: Locals of Varanasi, which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency, were in for a huge surprise as PM Modi reached out to people while inspecting key development works in the city at midnight on Monday.

Modi, who is on a two-day landmark visit to the poll-bound state, said it is the government's endeavour to create the best possible infrastructure for the sacred city. "Inspecting key development works in Kashi," tweeted Prime Minister Modi at 12:52 AM Tuesday.

PM Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the inspection after midnight. 

Locals were in huge awe to witness the presence of PM amid them. Locals, who were on their way back to their respective destinations, stopped midway to greet the Prime Minister.

The moment he reached the landmark of the city Gadolia circle, a huge crowd started to cheer for Modi. He also waved back to the crowd and interacted with the locals.

Among the lucky people were a father and child with whom Modi exchanged words while cuddling the baby. Soon after that Modi reached the railway station and apprised the nation of its development through a tweet.

He was seen interacting with local shopkeepers and waving at them on his way. At around 1.13 AM, PM tweeted: "Next stop…Banaras station. We are working to enhance rail connectivity as well as ensure clean, modern, and passenger-friendly railway stations."

Modi also took a walk at the Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor and enjoyed the grandeur of the temple in its setting at night.
