One Bullet Stuck In Left Temple Of Atiq Ahmed, Ashraf Shot Twice In Head: Post-Mortem Report Reveals Details

Post-mortem revealed that Atiq was hit by eight bullets and Ashraf by six bullets.

A post-mortem examination has revealed the details of the fatal shooting of brothers Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed in Prayagraj on April 15. The post-mortem, which was conducted by a panel of five doctors, revealed that Atiq was hit by eight bullets and Ashraf by six bullets.

According to the report, Atiq suffered one bullet wound to the head, one to the neck, two on the chest, and the remaining bullets in various parts of his body, including the stomach and hand. One bullet was lodged in the upper part of Atiq's head from the left temple.

Ashraf, on the other hand, was shot twice in the head, with bullets also found in his throat, chest, and abdomen.

The post-mortem examination was conducted by a team of five doctors, who carefully examined the bodies and recorded their findings.

Atiq Ahmed Buried Next To Son

Gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf were buried in their ancestral village in this Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday amid tight security. Ahmed's son Asad, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case who fell to police bullets, was buried at the same graveyard on Saturday. Ahmed was laid to rest right next to his son's grave.

Asad, the third of the five sons of Ahmed, was killed in a police encounter in Jhansi on April 13. He was on the run since Umesh Pal's killing on February 24.

On Sunday, three assailants pumped bullets into Ahmed and Ashraf in full view of camera crews outside the Prayagraj hospital. The assailants -- Lavlesh Tiwari (22) of Banda, Mohit alias Sunny (23) of Hamirpur and Arun Maurya (18) of Kasganj -- were arrested soon after the shootout.

According to the FIR, the three shooters told police that they killed the Ahmed brothers to make a name for themselves and wanted to establish their identity in the world of crime by eliminating Ahmed's gang.
