Modi Mathura Visit: PM To Participate In Braj Raj Utsav, Attend Mirabai Janmotsav Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mathura today where he will participate in Braj Raj Utsav and attend an event on the occasion of Miraba's birth anniversary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday visit Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura where he will participate in the ‘Braj Raj Utsav’. He will also grace the ‘Mirabai Janmotsav' which is being organised to celebrate the 525th birth anniversary of the mystic poet and Lord Krishna devotee.
During the Mirabai Janmotsav event, the Prime Minister will also witness a presentation by BJP MP and actor Hema Malini and release a commemorative stamp and coin in honour of the 15th century poet.
He will attend a cultural programme organised on the occasion which will also mark the initiation of year-long programmes in her memory.
Modi is also scheduled to visit Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Banke Bihari Temple to offer prayers.
The Sant Mirabai Fest will be celebrated for three days from November 23 to 25 during the Braj Raj Utsav.
A dance drama based on the life of Mirabai will be performed at the Railway Ground Fair, with Prime Minister Modi in attendance on Thursday.
Furthermore, a national seminar on Mirabai is slated to take place on Friday and Saturday at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on the Veterinary University campus. The event will see eminent scholars from the country speaking there.
A screening of the 1979 film, 'Meera' starring Hema Malini is scheduled for Friday at Rupam Talkies to honour Mirabai's birth anniversary. Additionally, the 1947 film 'Meera' featuring Shubhalakshmi will also be showcased on Saturday.
"Hema Malini will perform herself on November 23 upon the PM's arrival. On this occasion, a postal ticket will also be issued, and a proposal for the beautification of the Sadhana place will be presented," Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad CEO, Nagendra Pratap told ANI.
Security has been heightened in Mathura ahead of the PM's visit. 15 officers of the India Police Services, 30 Additional Superintendent of Police, 60 Deputy Superintendent of Police, 125 inspectors, and 1,500 police personnel from across the state have been deployed in the city.
Additionally, 14 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary, 4 companies of paramilitary , Special Protection Group, and snipers of the National Security Guard have also been deployed.
