TVK Slams Centre's Waqf Bill, Delimitation; Vijay Asks CM Stalin 'You Call BJP Fascist, But What Are You?’

Addressing TVK general body meeting in Chennai, Vijay referred to Stalin as a "Respected Monarch", questioning his governance while accusing the BJP-led central government of being fascist.

Actor-politician Vijay, chief of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, questioning the state government’s law and order, corruption, and governance. Vijay asserted that the real political battle in Tamil Nadu for Assembly Elections 2026 is between TVK and DMK.

Vijay’s Salvo On CM

Addressing a general body meeting in Chennai, Vijay sarcastically referred to Stalin as a "Respected Monarch", questioning his governance while accusing the BJP-led central government of being fascist. "After labeling the BJP government as a fascist regime, what are you here?" Vijay asked.

He further stated: "This (TVK) is for brotherhood against divisive forces, and for preserving the foundation of social justice. The situation in Tamil Nadu is deeply concerning. Law and order seem to be in disarray, and the government is responsible for this."

Vijay also took a stand on women’s safety, accusing the DMK government of failing in its duty: "CM, why do you react with anger when questioned about your governance? If the administration had been run effectively, women's safety wouldn't be in question."

Vijay asserted that under a TVK-led government, women's safety would be ensured and expressed confidence that the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would bring about a major political transformation. "Some may daydream about stopping us, but no one can halt our movement. No one can stand in the way of the political storm ahead. Stay tuned—next year, Tamil Nadu will witness an election like never before. The real battle is between two: TVK and DMK," he declared.

TVK’s Resolutions Against Waqf Bill, Delimitation

At the first general council meeting of TVK, presided over by Vijay, the party passed resolutions urging the Centre to withdraw the Waqf Bill and halt the proposed delimitation exercise.

The party alleged that the Waqf Bill curtails the rights of Muslims by imposing new conditions and restricting their existing powers.

On delimitation, TVK raised concerns that northern states would gain more parliamentary seats, while southern states, including Tamil Nadu, would see a reduction.

"People of Tamil Nadu consider this as a punishment for properly following family planning scheme of the Union government," the party alleged, as per PTI.

In his address, Vijay said, as per ANI, "In the name of delimitation, you (Union Government) are trying to reduce Tamil Nadu Parliament seats. PM sir, we understand your plans when you spoke about one nation, one election. Sir (PM Modi), handle Tamil Nadu carefully. Tamil Nadu is a state which has shown its power many times... I would say be careful sir..."
