Rahul Gandhi To Be Part Of Actor Vijay-Led TVK Party's 1st Conference In Tamil Nadu? Here's What We Know
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam also reportedly planned to invite Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and others.
The upcoming conference of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, is scheduled to take place in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, on September 23. The event has drawn considerable attention from Tamil Nadu's political circles, with great anticipation about who will attend the launch of Vijay's political venture.
Speculation is rife that several senior leaders, former ministers, and executives from major political parties like the DMK, AIADMK, BJP, and prominent personalities from the film industry may join the conference. In a move reminiscent of actor Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam launch, which saw Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in attendance, Vijay's team is reportedly making efforts to bring state chief ministers with close ties to Vijay to the Vikravandi conference.
Among the potential attendees is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. However, there is uncertainty about his participation due to the severe rain and flood situation in Andhra Pradesh. Despite this, Vijay's camp remains hopeful that Naidu will attend, given the significance of this political event marking Vijay's foray into politics, according to a report on ABP Nadu.
In addition to Naidu, there are plans to invite Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and others.
Rahul Gandhi's Possible Participation Sparks Speculation
Among the talks, speculations are rife about the attendance of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, a close ally of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu and reportedly friend of Vijay. It is suggested that Vijay has reached out to central Congress leaders inviting Gandhi to join the conference. If these speculations hold true, it would be the first time in over 10 years that Vijay and Gandhi share a public platform, after a secret meeting between them fueled rumours in the past.
Sources indicate that Vijay is making extensive arrangements to ensure Rahul Gandhi's participation in the event. Political analysts believe that Gandhi's presence could have a significant impact on Tamil Nadu's political landscape, potentially shifting alliances and altering the balance of power.
