6 Minors Among 12 Arrested For Raping 13-Year-Old Girl In Tamil Nadu, Mother Booked
Tamil Nadu authorities arrested 12, including minors, for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. The case involves a predatory relationship and gang activity.

Authorities in Tamil Nadu have apprehended twelve individuals, including six minors, in connection with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
The distressing case came to light when the girl was taken by her mother to Chengalpattu Government Hospital, complaining of abdominal pain. Medical examinations revealed the girl was pregnant, prompting hospital staff to notify the Pallavaram Police, who then launched a detailed investigation.
Police reports indicate that one of the accused had established a friendship with the girl, who was often alone at her residence in the Pallavaram area of Chennai while her parents were at work. This individual allegedly sexually assaulted her, reportedly under a false promise of marriage. Subsequently, he involved his associates, who also subjected her to sexual assault.
The police investigation led to the arrest of six adult men – identified as Dickson, Sanjay, Ajay, Surya, Nandakumar and S Sanjay – and six minors. All twelve have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso). The adult suspects were brought before the Tambaram Magistrate and have been remanded to Puzhal prison. The minors involved have been placed in a juvenile detention center.
Additionally, the girl's mother is also facing charges. Police have registered a case against her for alleged abetment, based on accusations made by the accused individuals.
This recent incident echoes a similar case from February, where seven college students were arrested under Pocso charges for the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore district.
According to sources, these students, residing together in a rented room in the Kuniyamuthur region, had befriended the minor through a social media application. The girl, a resident of the Ukkadam area, left to meet one of them and did not return home, which led her family to file a missing person's report with the police.
The girl later returned home and disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by the students. Following her statement, all seven individuals were taken into custody and placed under judicial remand.
