Transforming Schools, Empowering Communities: Punjab’s Revolutionary School Management Committees

In a historic move, 19,123 government schools in Punjab have now been equipped with newly structured School Management Committees (SMCs).

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab is witnessing a remarkable transformation in its education sector. Committed to ensuring quality education for every child, the Mann Government is implementing bold reforms to strengthen school infrastructure, student welfare, and parent-teacher collaboration.

One such groundbreaking initiative is the formation of School Management Committees (SMCs), which are set to become game-changers in improving government schools. With a clear vision, Every Child in Punjab Must Receive the Best Education, the state is ensuring that parents, teachers, and communities come together to uplift the standards of education.

Revolutionizing School Governance

In a historic move, 19,123 government schools in Punjab have now been equipped with newly structured School Management Committees (SMCs). These committees, which include parents and community representatives, are playing a pivotal role in decision-making and school development.

From monitoring academic progress to enhancing school infrastructure, SMCs are working hand in hand with school authorities to create an environment where students can thrive.

Mega SMC Meetings: A First in Punjab

Taking a democratic and inclusive approach, the Mann Government recently organized Mega SMC Meetings across 19,110 government schools. These meetings empowered parents and community representatives to actively participate in school decisions.

During these gatherings, SMC members conducted on-site school inspections, assessed cleanliness, identified areas that needed improvement, and proposed local solutions to enhance learning conditions. The initiative is strengthening trust between schools and communities, ensuring that every child's education remains a shared responsibility.

A Vision for Positive Change

The Mann Government is determined to make Punjab’s education system the best in the country. Through active community participation, accountability, and shared responsibility, Punjab is setting a benchmark for inclusive and progressive education reforms.

By fostering collaboration between parents, teachers, and communities, the government is driving a movement of collective responsibility, one that is bringing real, positive change to schools across the state.

The future of Punjab’s education is brighter than ever, thanks to visionary leadership and empowered communities working together!
