Empowering Every Child through Education in Punjab

Imagine a school where not just textbooks but life lessons shape young minds. Under the revolutionary reforms, Punjab’s government schools are being equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure.

In a transformative stride towards building a brighter future for its youth, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has set its sights on a complete overhaul of the education system. With a focus on inclusivity, quality, and modernity, the reforms are already making waves, promising a better tomorrow for every child in Punjab.

Reimagining Schools: From Infrastructure to Interaction

Imagine a school where not just textbooks but life lessons shape young minds. Under the revolutionary reforms, Punjab’s government schools are being equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure. In over 118 schools under the "School of Eminence" initiative, students now have access to state-of-the-art facilities like playgrounds, swimming pools, laboratories, and smart classrooms. The investment of ₹100 crore goes beyond bricks and mortar; it’s an investment in shaping future leaders.

But it’s not just about infrastructure. In December alone, 20 lakh parents attended the ‘Mega PTM’ across 19,109 government schools. This initiative wasn’t just about sharing academic progress but fostering an emotional bond between parents, teachers, and students—ensuring that every voice is heard.

Education for Happiness: Introducing ‘Schools of Happiness’

At the core of these reforms is a simple yet profound idea—education should be stress-free. In an ambitious initiative, the Maan government plans to launch 132 ‘Schools of Happiness.’ The goal is clear: children should thrive, not just survive. Through innovative teaching methods and a focus on emotional well-being, these schools aim to make learning an enjoyable journey for children.

Nurturing Skills, Building Careers: High-Tech Vocational Labs

With an eye on the future, Maan government is also addressing the growing demand for skilled labor. Forty ‘High-Tech Vocational Labs’ will be set up, focusing on developing technical skills and industry-relevant knowledge among students. This isn’t just about theoretical learning—these labs will offer hands-on experience, ensuring students are equipped with practical skills that the modern workforce demands.

The Backbone: Teachers at the Forefront

No reform is complete without recognizing the role of teachers. Punjab has regularized 12,316 teachers and recruited 9,518 more, ensuring that students receive guidance from passionate, well-trained educators. With a proposed budget of ₹16,987 crore, the Maan government is determined to see these reforms through, providing financial backing for the long-term success of its initiatives.

A Future to Look Forward To

With every new policy, every upgraded classroom, and every teacher who steps into a well-supported role, the Mann government is crafting a Punjab where education is not just a right but a life-changing experience for every child.
This revolution in education is more than just numbers and policies—it’s about changing lives. And with each step, the Maan government is ensuring that its children walk confidently into a future full of possibilities.
