'Ghost Of Hatred': PM Modi Renews Attack On Congress Over Rahul Gandhi's Comments In US

Prime Minister Modi criticised Congress, calling it "anti-national" and "corrupt," citing Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the US during an event in Maharashtra's Wardha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday renewed his attack on the Congress party over comments by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during his recent trip to the US. Gandhi's comments on RSS, BJP, and Sikhs drew huge ire from the saffron party.

Addressing a public gathering during the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ programme in Wardha, Maharashtra, Modi said that this was not the same old Congress. "The spirit of patriotism has died in today's Congress. The ghost of hatred has entered today's Congress," he said.

In a veiled reference to Gandhi's statements, he said: "See the language of the Congress people on foreign land, their anti-national agenda, talking about breaking the society, insulting the culture of the country, this is the Congress which is being run by the people of 'Tukde Tukde Gang' and 'Urban Naxals'. "

"Today if there is the most dishonest and most corrupt party in the country, then that party is the Congress Party. If there is any most corrupt family in the country, then it is the royal family of Congress," he added.

Modi further attacked Congress saying its "anti-Dalit" and "anti-backward" mentality was eradicated by the Bharatiya Janata Party through the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme.

People from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Class communities have the largest participation in the country's traditional skills, he noted.

"If previous governments had cared about the Vishwakarma community, this society would have made significant contributions," Modi said. "However, Congress and its allies deliberately prevented SC, ST, and OBC communities from progressing," he added.

"We have eradicated this anti-Dalit, anti-backwards mindset of Congress from the government system," said the PM.

He highlighted that the data from the past year shows that SC, ST, and OBC communities are the biggest beneficiaries of the Vishwakarma Yojana.
