'Discussed INDIA Meeting, Rumours About Sharad Pawar': Maha Congress Chief On Meeting With Uddhav

Leaders of Maharashtra's political landscape engaged in discussions over crucial matters, including upcoming INDIA event and addressing recent instances of confusion within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition. Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole held a meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), on Sunday (August 14). 

The discussions focused on the upcoming opposition bloc INDIA assembly in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1. They also looked into the recent meeting in Pune on Saturday between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Patole stressed the importance of maintaining unity and clarity among MVA employees during their meeting. "People of Maharashtra see us as one and there should be no confusion among the workers. The Maha Vikas Aghadi is united and everyone's stand should be made clear at the earliest," he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. 

Sharad Pawar, addressing his "secret" meeting with his nephew Ajit Pawar, highlighted the familial nature of their interaction. He stated, "I want to tell you a fact that he is my nephew. What is wrong with meeting my nephew? If a senior person in a family desires to meet another family member, there should not be any issue with that." The meeting between the NCP founder and the Deputy Chief Minister took place at the residence of a businessman in Pune's Koregaon Park area.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut acknowledged the concerns raised by the meeting between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar. "There was a discussion about the rumours being spread after Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar's meeting," he said. These rumours are alarming. We'll discuss it with Sharad Pawar..."

The ongoing political landscape in Maharashtra has seen shifts and challenges, such as Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs joining the Eknath Shinde government, causing a schism within the NCP. During these discussions, the incident of 18 deaths at Kalwa's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital prompted Patole to hold the Eknath Shinde government accountable and to demand greater accountability and transparency in healthcare facilities.
