J&K Polls: 'Won't Engage With Pakistan Until...,' Says Amit Shah At Rajouri Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a poll rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri where he said that India won't engage with Pakistan till terrorism is eliminated.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that New Delhi won't hold any talks with Pakistan until it stops aiding and abetting terrorism. Speaking at a poll rally in Rajouri ahead of the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections, Shah also said that no terrorist or stone pelter will be released from jail.

"Let me be clear, we will not hold conversations with Pakistan till terrorism is eliminated," said the BJP leader.

"The Opposition wants to restore trading at LoC and release the stone pelters," he said, adding: "BJP assures you, no terrorist will walk free in Jammu and Kashmir."

During his address, Shah targeted Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on reservation saying Congress, National Conference and the People's Democratic Party deprived people of Jammu and Kashmir of their reservation rights for years.

"Modi ji decided that let the Opposition do whatever it wants, but we will certainly give reservation to the Pahadi community," Shah assured.

Further attacking the Opposition, the Union minister said that Farooq Abdullah said they (the opposition) will bring back Article 370. "Farooq Sahab, nobody can bring back Article 370," he added.

"Now, bunkers are not needed because no one can dare to fire bullets. 'Agar wahan see goli aayi to goli ka jawab gole se diya jayega'... They want to bring back Shiekh Abdullah's flag... Only our Tricolour will wave in Jammu and Kashmir," Shah said.

The Union Home Minister said that the Abdullah family, the Mufti family and the Nehru-Gandhi family "have harmed Kashmir."

"These families have created a race of corruption and indulged in corruption. They want the days of 1990 to come back again. They say that we will start trading again in LoC. You know that terrorism was coming in the name of trade from LoC. Today, under the leadership of Modiji, the incidents of terrorism have stopped and these people are trying to embrace the terrorists," he added.
