4 Coaches Of Ajmer-Sealdah Express Derail While Releasing Safety Brakes, Officials On Spot
North Western Railway Chief PRO Captain Shashi Kiran said at 8.30 am, the officials received information that a rake of train 12988 derailed while on its way to Madar Yard for maintenance.
Four coaches of Ajmer-Sealdah Express derailed on Monday morning at around 7.50 am at the Madar Railway Yard in Ajmer due to rollover while releasing the safety brakes. Railway officials and DRM reached the spot and the operations to put the four coaches back on the tracks are underway. According to officials, no injuries have been reported in the mishap.
North Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Captain Shashi Kiran said the process of rerailment has begun and since the rake was empty, there was no injury or loss of life.

"Today at 8.30 am we received information that an empty rake of train 12988 was derailed while on its way to Madar Yard for maintenance. Four coaches are derailed. The process of rerailment has begun. Since it was an empty rake, there was no injury or loss of life... We have installed a temporary single line so that no rail operations are affected..." Kiran said in a video message shared by news agency ANI.
Earlier this month, seven loaded wagons of a goods train derailed between Kasara, over 100 kilometres from Mumbai, and TGR-3 station on the Central Railway network on Sunday, an official said, quoted PTI.
The derailment left the mail express traffic on the Kasara-Igatpuri section on the Down line and middle line affected, the official added.
"There is derailment of a goods train between Kasara to TGR-3 DOWN line section at 18.31 hrs, on Down Main line. Goods train- JNPT/DLIB Container train. 2 wagons derailed. Mail express traffic in Kasara to Igatpuri section DOWN section is affected. And middle line is affected. Suburban local train traffic is not affected," Central Railway chief pubic relations officer (CPRO) Shivraj Manaspure said on X, formerly Twitter.
