Gurugram Resident Who Assaulted 14-Year-Old Domestic Help Sacked By Employer

Kamaljeet Kaur, who was arrested on Tuesday for violently assaulting a 14-year-old domestic help, has been sacked from her company with immediate effect.

New Delhi: Kamaljeet Kaur, who was arrested on Tuesday for violently assaulting a 14-year-old domestic help, has been sacked from her company with immediate effect. She was working in a PR and communication firm, Media Mantra.

The company in its statement said they have full faith in India's legal system and are strictly against any form of human rights abuse.

"We are shocked to learn about the human rights and child abuse allegations against Kamaljeet Kaur. As an organization, we respect the Indian legal system and are strictly against any form of human rights abuse. The company has terminated her services with immediate effect," the statement said.
Last evening, in a shocking incident a 14-year-old domestic help was rescued from her employer's house where she was brutally assaulted for several months.

The couple from New Colony was allegedly torturing and sexually harassing the girl for months. Several injuries were found on her hands, feet and mouth, the police said.

“According to the complaint, the girl hails from Jharkhand. The couple allegedly used to beat her mercilessly for not working properly. She has several cut and burn injuries, suspected to have been inflicted with a blade or hot tongs,” the Indian Express quoted a police officer as saying.

The report stated that the doctors are also examining her to see if she was sexually abused.

“The girl had injuries on several parts of her body – face, arms, hands and feet. On one of her arms, her skin had been burnt. A preliminary probe has found that the couple allegedly accused the minor of stealing food and not working properly, and would beat her up as a result. They allegedly deprived her of food and gave her leftovers to eat. A medical examination has been conducted and further legal action will be taken accordingly,” said the police officer.

According to the report, the couple hired the victim a few months ago through a placement agency to look after their three-month-old daughter.

An FIR has been registered against the couple under sections 323 (causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and the POCSO Act at New Colony police station.
