Caught On Cam: Speeding Car Tosses Woman In Air Before Being Run Over By Truck In Assam

A woman died in Assam after a speeding car lost control following an e-rickshaw’s sudden maneuver, sparking outrage over traffic safety and e-rickshaw regulation.

A woman lost her life in a horrific accident on a busy road in Assam, triggering renewed outrage over traffic safety and the proliferation of e-rickshaws on Indian roads. The tragic incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked public debate and raised fresh concerns about unregulated traffic movement and road infrastructure.

As seen in the video , the accident occurred when a Hyundai car, reportedly speeding, lost control after an e-rickshaw made a sudden and erratic maneuver on the roadway. The car veered off its path, striking a woman who was standing on the roadside. As the car hit the woman she was up in the air for 3 seconds and landed on the other side of the road with a harsh impact on the road.

Within moments, a truck approaching from behind ran over the woman, leaving her with fatal injuries. She died on the spot.

The video footage, which has since gone viral, depicts the rapid and devastating sequence of events. It shows the car’s sudden swerve, the impact with the woman, and the oncoming truck’s inability to stop in time. Bystanders can be seen reacting in horror as the tragedy unfolds.

The users in the comment section slammed high uses of these E-rickshaws and creating chaos on the roads.

One of the users said, “E-Rickshaw shouldn’t be allowed on Highways. Also the car driver is over speeding. He/she could’ve have applied the brake and this wouldn’t have happened. Both the car driver and E-riksha driver is responsible for the incident.”

In response to growing complaints and safety issues, the Delhi government recently announced a crackdown on unregistered e-rickshaws, stating that all impounded unregistered vehicles will be scrapped within seven days. The policy aims to bring order to the chaotic and often unsafe conditions posed by such vehicles.
