Prashant Kishor-Led Jan Suraaj To Be Officially Registered As Political Party On October 2

Earlier this month, Prashant Kishor said that around one crore people would join Jan Suraaj when it becomes a full-fledged party on October 2.

Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj, which started as a campaign in Bihar, is set to be registered as a political party on October 2, the campaign group said in a release on Sunday.

Jan Suraaj said that ahead of the party formation, eight separate state-level meetings of more than 1.5 lakh officials associated with the campaign across Bihar will be organised.

"In these meetings, the process of formation of the party, its leadership, constitution and priorities of the party will be decided with all the officials," it said.

Earlier this month, the poll strategist-turned-political activist said that around one crore people would join Jan Suraaj when it becomes a full-fledged party on October 2.

'Party To Function Based On 5 Groups'

In a meeting in Patna on Sunday, Prashant Kishore said that if Jan Suraaj is formed into a political party then it will be divided into five groups like General, OBC and Muslims.

"There has been a in-depth discussions on the leadership of the party. I want to share this with you. It has been decided that every time one of the five classes will be given the opportunity to lead the party. Who will be the leader of the party or what So everyone decided that these five classes should be given the opportunity to lead the party," Kishor said.

He further added, "There are two questions. Who will get the chance to lead first? For how many days will he get the change? You will decide for how many days. One suggestion is that the one who, will lead the team, will be given an opportunity of one year so that in five years, people from all five categories should get an opportunity to lead the party for one year each."

"The second suggestion is that they should get a chance for two years, because they will not be able to do much work in one year. But those who are in favor of one year, what I am hoping for is that in five years all sections of the society will get a chance to work," he said.

Prashant Kishor has also announced plans to contest all 243 assembly seats in Bihar to transform the state’s political landscape.

The political strategist has portrayed Jan Suraaj as an alternative to the three-party dominated politics in Bihar, which has seen a coalition government of Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) with either the BJP or the RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav.

"People want a new party or a new option in the state if there is to be any improvement in Bihar. This is because the public has been distressed by Lalu, Nitish, and the BJP for the past 30 years. The public sees that there is no improvement in their lives, but people are not sure whom to vote for," Kishor said last month.
