'Black Day For Us, Remember Pulwama Soldiers': Fringe Group, Armed With Sticks, Warn Couples On Valentine's Day

National President of Hindu Shiv Bhavani Sena, Luv Kumar Singh said they are completely against Valentine's Day, and emphasised everyone to celebrate it as Black Day in remembrance of the Pulwama attack.

Men were spotted entering a park with rods and sticks in Bihar's capital city Patna restricting a young couple from celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday. Members of the fringe group Hindu Shiv Bhavani Seva visited multiple parks across the city, chanting slogans against public displays of affection, stating, "Stop spreading obscenity in public places." They were also heard saying the slogan in Hindi, "Jahan milenge babu sona, tod denge kona-kona."

National President of Hindu Shiv Bhavani Sena, Luv Kumar Singh, told the news agency IANS, "We are against obscenity. We oppose Valentine's Day, and celebrate it as Black Day in remembrance of the soldiers who were martyred on this day in Pulwama."

"This festival is a gift of Western culture and we are against it. There is no mention of this festival in the Hindu religion. This festival is more dangerous than Cancer and we are completely against it, "he added.

Hindu Activists At UP's Agra

Similarly, the Hindu activists and Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha workers entered Paliwal Park in Agra, UP, carrying sticks and batons and chanting "Jai Shri Ram" slogans to protest against Valentine's Day. Seeing the activists chaos erupted among couples sitting in the park.

A similar incident took place in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, where two organisations—the Bajrang Dal and the Bharatiya Sufi Foundation—launched their protest against Valentine's Day, condemning it as a Western cultural practice that they believe has no place in Indian.

12 teams were deployed by Bajrang Dal leaders to patrol the city along with other 20 teams monitoring nearby districts. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Sufi Foundation also raised the issues highlighting that celebrating Valentine's Day "misleads children."
