Iyer might get a chance to make his ODI debut for India when they play a three-match ODI series against South Africa in January.
KKR retained Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 8 crore for IPL 2022. Thanks to Iyer's excellent batting performance, KKR had reached the IPL 2021 finals. However, the franchise was defeated by Chennai Super Kings in the final. CSK won the IPL title for the fourth time under MS Dhoni's captaincy.
