A lot of debate went into the cancellation of the Tokyo Olympics with even the International Olympic Council of the view that if there is any further postponement of the Olympics, Tokyo Games could be cancelled.
With the Corona pandemic still not under complete control and Tokyo facing an economic crisis and shortage of essential and medical supplies, many people have questioned the organisation of Olympics. It has become a subject of severe political and public debate with several surveys taking place internally but this is the first time that any political party or its candidate has used the cancellation of Tokyo Games as its poll plank.
