Pro Kabaddi League 2019: U Mumba trounce Gujarat Fortune Giants

Hosts U Mumba registered an emphatic win over in-form Gujarat Fortune Giants in the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 by defeating them 32-20 at the Dome@NSCI, SVP Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. U Mumba's superlative win was courtesy a terrific allround performance by Surinder Singh who got a high five and made an excellent super raid. The teams were engrossed in neck to neck battle in the first half of the match before Fazel Atrachali's men led a major onslaught in the second half and outclassed Fortune Giants on the mat. U Mumba picked up 15 raid points, 11 tackle points and 4 all-out points in comparison to Gujarat FortuneGiants' 10, 8, and 0 points respectively. Two super raids proved to be the game changing move for U Mumba as Gujarat Fortune Giants suffered their first defeat of the season. While it was just the second win for U Mumba on the home turf this season. Giants were guilty of defence errors, especially in the second half. It was a collective failure for Manpreet Singh's boys, who had 5-1 record against U Mumba before the match. Earlier in the day, Telugu Titans and U.P. Yoddha played out a 20-20 tie in the opening match of the day. It was low-scoring yet thrilling contest where the two defences rose to the occasion. Siddharth Desai top scored for Telugu Titans with 5 raid points. Abozar Mighani scored four tackle points.
