The Indian men's hockey team delivered an outstanding performance at 2024 Olympics, securing the bronze medal for the second consecutive time. This marked India's 13th medal in hockey, following their bronze win at the previous Tokyo Olympics.
The bronze medal win was particularly significant as it marked the farewell game for legendary Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who played his last international match. Sreejesh's exceptional performance, including numerous impressive saves, was instrumental in India's memorable victory.

In 2024 Paris Olympics, India men's hockey team scored 15 goals and conceded 12. Out of the 15 goals, nine were from penalty corners, three from penalty strokes, and only three from field goals.
Regarding the next step in his career, legend PR Sreejesh mentioned that he will spend the next 2-3 months mentally preparing for his transition from player to coach. He expressed the need to understand what is required of him as a coach and to prepare himself for this new role.
"As a coach, what all I should do or the transition from a player to a coach, I have to mentally prepare for that. So, I will spend the next 2-3 months on that," he said.
