Paris 2024 Olympics: IOC To Fall Just Short Of Target But France To Host Most Gender-Equal Games: Report

Paris 2024: The organisers might just fall short of the 50-50 split in terms of men and women athletes participating in Paris are concerned but this would be the most gender-equal Olympics ever.

Paris 2024 Olympics: The Olympic Games have indeed come a long way. With four days to go for the official opening ceremony of the Summer Games, the Paris 2024 Olympics are set to commence in the same city where women athletes made their debut way back in 1900. 124 years later, this looks set to be the most gender equal Olympic-games ever.

Notably, the original idea proposed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reckoned that there should ideally be a 50-50 split in terms of male and the female athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The ratio was targetted for over 11,000 men and women including the backups who have been registered to compete at the event which concludes on August 11.
