India enjoyed a remarkable Day 5 at the Paris Olympics 2024 on July 31, 2024. Swapnil Kusale made history as the first Indian to qualify for the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions final. In badminton, PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen advanced to their respective Women’s and Men’s Singles Quarterfinals with decisive victories. Lovlina Borgohain and Nishant Dev both progressed to the boxing Quarterfinals, positioning India for potential medals in the sport. 

Additionally, Deepika Kumari moved into the Women’s Singles Archery Quarterfinals.

Rajeshwari Kumari (22nd) and Shreyasi Singh (23rd) do not make the Women's Trap final.

Badminton

PV Sindhu defeats Kristin Kuuba (Estonia) 21-5, 21-10 to advance to the Women's Singles Round of 16.

Lakshya Sen upsets third seed Jonatan Christie (Indonesia) 21-18, 21-12 to reach the Men's Singles Pre-Quarterfinals.

HS Prannoy wins against Duc Phat Le (Vietnam) 16-21, 21-11, 21-12 in the Men's Singles Group Stage, advancing to the Pre-Quarterfinals.

Rowing

Balraj Panwar finishes last in the Men's Singles Sculls Semifinals (C/D) but qualifies for Final D.

Equestrian

Anush Agarwalla fails to qualify for the Dressage Individual Grand Prix final.
