India had a remarkable performance, boosting its medal tally to 15. Sumit Antil won gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 with a new Paralympic record of 70.59 metres and para-shuttler Nitesh Kumar clinched gold in men’s singles SL3, defeating Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell. Yogesh Kathuniya secured a silver in men’s discus throw F56, while shuttler Suhas Yathiraj also won silver in men’s singles SL4. Shuttlers Thulasimathi Murugesan and Manisha Ramadass took silver and bronze, respectively, in women’s singles SU5. Additionally, archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar earned a bronze in the mixed team compound open event. Shuttler Nithya Sre ended the day on a high as she too bagged a bronze in the Women's Singles SH6 bronze medal match.

On the sixth day of the Paris Paralympics 2024, India will look to replicate day 5’s strong performance with key medal opportunities in para-shooting, para-archery and para-athletics. Avani Lekhara, a two-time Paralympic champion, will compete in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Position SH1 event, aiming to improve on her Tokyo bronze.
