Not First Time PM Modi Talked About India's Proposal Of Hosting 2036 Olympics
It has been Narendra Modi's vision and dream of working towards the prospect of India becoming the lead-runner to host the Olympics 2036, as the Prime Minister has stated the same dream a couple of times in the past.
During the 37th National Games (2023) at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao, PM Modi, just after inaugurating the event, said that India has a pool of sporting talent, and that, the government will aid the cause of promoting sports in the country.
"We have brought in changes in schemes to provide financial incentives to sportspersons. There is no dearth of sporting talent in India. The country has produced champions despite deprivation, yet poor performance in the medal tally always rankled people," said PM Modi, as reported by Times of India.
