World No.1 Novak Djokovic To Be Deported After Losing Australia Visa Appeal

The Federal Court of Australia upheld the government's decision to cancel Djokovic's visa who had not submitted his Covid-19 vaccination status.

Novak Djokovic has lost his legal battle for an Australian visa. He will be deported out of the country and won't be participating in the upcoming Australian Open.

The Federal Cout of Australia upheld the government's decision to cancel Djokovic's visa who had not submitted his Covid-19 vaccination status.

The government of Australia had argued that the Serbian posed a threat to public health. Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said Djokovic's presence in the country might lead to an “increase in anti-vaccination sentiment” and also “civil unrest”.

The 34-year-old Serbian had his Australian Open first-round match on Monday. The defending champion will face Miomir Kecmanovic in 1st round on Monday.
