Independence Day 2022: Indian cricket team's star pace bowler Mohammed Shami's estranged wife Hasin Jahan is in the news after her unique appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah on India's 75th Independence Day. She took to Instagram today to post a video on her official Instagram handle in which she can be seen dancing to the famous Bollywood song 'Desh Mera Rangeela'. The unique thing about this video is not her dance but her 'appeal' to PM Modi and HM Shah to change the name of the country. She requested to change the name of country to Bharat or Hindustan instead of India.

In her Insta post, Hasin Jahan wrote, "Our country our pride. I Love bharat, Hamre desh ka name sirf Hindustan ya bharat hona chahye. Mananiya pradhan mantri jee, mananiya griha mantri jee Se darkhwast hai ke India name ko change kijie jese Ki poore world hamare desh ko Bharat ya Hindustan kahe naki India."

Hasin Jahan and team India pacer Mohammed Shami tied the knot in the year 2014. A few years later in 2018, Hasin Jahan made many serious allegations against her husband Shami including domestic violence and match-fixing. However, the BCCI found Shami 'not guilty' in the investigation and he continued playing for the country.
