Manchester United Transfer Update: Raphael Varane & Jadon Sancho Deal Close, Enroute Old Trafford?

Sancho deal "is extremely close" and that it might get done before the start of EURO 2020 on 12 June. Even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sounded excited to sign good strikers.

Manchester: It is being reported that Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho and Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane would be the latest entrants in the Manchester United squad. If the Englishman and Frenchman are included in the United stand, then United will have a great chance at winning the Premier League.

Mark Goldberg, a journalist, and YouTuber said that his sources say that the Sancho deal "is extremely close" and that it might get done before the start of EURO 2020 on 12 June. Even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sounded excited to sign good strikers. He said, "Yeah, Edi signed but how many good strikers have we had at this club? I can't say we're not signing a striker, of course not. Because we're building towards a better squad, we're top three two years on the bounce but not where we want to be."

Meanwhile, United owners Glazer family has released a statement in which they have promised to be more committed towards the fans after. This statement came in the light of the protests that happened at Old Trafford last month. In the statement, the owners promised to give Ole a free hand in the transfer market.

The statement from the Manchester United owners reads: "Old Trafford is at the heart of Manchester United and while we have spent over £100m over the last 10 years on infrastructure projects, we will now accelerate the process of planning much more significant investment and upgrades to the stadium…rest assured, we will consult with supporters throughout the process to end up with a result we can all be proud of.

“As owners, we want exactly the same thing as the fans – a successful team and a strong club – and we want to work in partnership to achieve those objectives.

They also introduced a new 'Fan Share Scheme' where the fans could invest in Manchester United shares. “Fans are the lifeblood of Manchester United and I am personally committed to ensuring that they are given an enhanced voice, through the creation of a Fan Advisory Board and a Fan Share Scheme," read the statement.

Manchester United's long-standing second-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been released by the club.
