RCB were superb in the field in the match against PBKS on Thursday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 24 runs in an IPL 2023 encounter at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday. After being invited to bat first, Bangalore posted 174/4 in their 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. They then restricted the Punjab Kings to 150 to register a win.
Bangalore completely dominated the second half of the innings, picking wickets from the first over itself, removing 4 Punjab batters inside the powerplay. They were good with the ball and were superb in the field.
One particular incident that stood out was Wanindu Hasaranga's superb direct-throw helped the team get rid of PBKS' stand-in skipper Sam Curran. The incident happened in the 10th over when the Englishman was a bit slow to get to the non-striker's end but Hasaranga's throw caught him short.
The video of the run-out was shared by IPL's official social media handle. "Direct-Hit number 2⃣ 🎯 It's @Wanindu49 with the throw this time 😎 #PBKS skipper Sam Curran has to walk back," the clip was captioned.
