Rohit Sharma To Stay At MI In IPL 2025? Fresh Report Makes BOLD Claim
Rohit Sharma To Stay At MI In IPL 2025? Amid all kinds of speculation, a fresh claim in a media report is grabbing attention.
Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction, if there is one player who is attracting maximum attention, it happens to be the Mumbai Indians (MI) legend Rohit Sharma. The main reason behind it was the way Rohit was removed as the captain of the franchise months after he had led Team India to an ODI World Cup 2023 final in spectacular fashion, leading from the front.
Rohit was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the leader, the all-rounder who had moved to Gujarat Titans (GT) but was brought back by MI in a trade deal. Nonetheless, MI had a disastrous season with the team reportedly divided in two halves, with one section of the players reportedly looking at Rohit as their leader and the other accepting Hardik's appointment as the skipper.
Amid all this, fans are keen to know whether Rohit would continue to stay at MI or will leave the franchise ahead of the mega-auction. While there have been several reports which suggest that the five-time IPL winning-captain with MI will be leaving, fresh media reports including the one carried by TV9 Bharatvarsh suggests Rohit could actually end up staying in the team.

The said report claims that the differences between the franchise and Rohit has been resolved and both the parties have no objection in Rohit being retained. However, there is no official confirmation yet and one will have to wait and see if there is any truth in such reports.
Will Rohit Sharma Be Back As MI Captain?
If Rohit stays at MI, the question might arise as to whether he will be back as the captain. However, that is unlikely to be the case with Hardik as the leader and the team having candidates like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah who are waiting for their turn and can be trusted for the long run with age on their side.
