IPL 2021: It was a double-header on Sunday in the Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 38 runs in a comfortable match. AB de Villiers was adjudged Man of the Match for his 76 made in 34 balls. It took a special performance from AB and Maxwell to take RCB’s score to 204 on a difficult Chepauk wicket.
It was an all-around performance by RCB. Their batsmen played brilliantly to reach 204 while their bowlers also did well to be restricted to 166/8. Virat Kohli got out after scoring 5, but the two dependable overseas batsmen from RCB did a good job to not stop the flow of runs. 205 as a target would have been difficult on any given day in Chepauk. But RCB bowlers were up to the mark. Jamieson and Chahal took wickets while Siraj stopped the run flow. He bowled the all-important 19th over and gave away just one run with Andre Russell on Strike.
Losing captain, Eoin Morgan said, “The wicket did play better than we thought it was going to. It was RCB's day with the bat, they made use of any tiny errors with the ball. But I can't fault our efforts. We gave it absolutely everything in the field today. Tried our best in the chase but not to be.”

AB de Villiers who was adjudged Man of the Match said, “I had a lot of fun out there. It helped with Maxi playing well up front and it made it really easy and gave the guys confidence that it's not unplayable. It's difficult when you come into games like these where the wicket tends to be a bit slow, you gotta break the shackles individually which some of our players did tonight.”
RCB registered their third victory in a row and claimed the top of the points table.
