CSK Vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings by 50 runs to script history in their Match 8 fixture of the IPL 2025. Thw win not only extends RCB's perfect start to the season, but also helps the franchise bring an end to their 17-year drought of a win at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) against CSK.

The last time RCB managed to beat the five-time IPL champions at the venue was way back in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (2008), where Anil Kumble' men managed to defend a total of 126 by restricting MS Dhoni's men to 112.

CSK Vs RCB, IPL 2025 Match 8: Highlights

Ruturaj Gaikwad won the coin toss and elected to bowl first at Chepauk. The decision was not backed good enough by the bowlers, as Phil Salt unleashed a wrath of boundaries to provide RCB an explosive start.

The Englishman's juggernaut ended at 32, as MS Dhoni produced a sharp piece of work behind the wickets to effect a stumping. The top-order of RCB managed to got off to starts, but only captain Rajat Patidar managed to convert it into a big score, as few dropped catches and sloppy work in the field from CSK gifted him a fifty.

CSK made a brilliant comeback in the death overs, as it looked like RCB might not even cross 185, but Tim David smashed Sam Curran for three consecutive sixes to ensure that the visitors end their innings at 196.

Virat Kohli was an off-show tonight, as his 31 runs came off 30 deliveries, with him struggling to find boundaries.

In reply, CSK's batting order produced a disastrous start, as Josh Hazlewood scalped Rahul Tripathi, followed by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck, and in the process, conceded merely 6 runs in his first two overs.

Apart from Rachin Ravindra, no other batter showed promise or enough intent to produce a vital knock in the run chase, as CSK's innings restricted at 146/8 after 20 overs.
