Both teams are aiming to win their first-ever IPL title, making this final highly anticipated. However, uncertainty surrounds Yuzvendra Chahal’s place in the playing XI.

Chahal’s season has been inconsistent. Despite a memorable hat-trick, he missed two matches due to injury and struggled upon his return. In Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians, he bowled 4 overs for 39 runs, taking just one wicket - a performance that may cost him his spot in the final.

Chahal’s IPL Final Experience

Chahal has played in the IPL final twice before but ended up on the losing side each time. His first final appearance was in 2016 with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad. In that match, Chahal’s bowling figures were 1 for 39.

He appeared in his second final with Rajasthan Royals in 2022, which also ended in defeat. Chahal took 1 wicket for 20 runs in that game. Now, he has the chance to play his third IPL final, this time potentially representing Punjab Kings.

Possible Replacement: Harpreet Brar

If Yuzvendra Chahal is left out, Harpreet Brar, a left-arm spinner, is expected to take his place. Harpreet has been a consistent performer for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in recent matches.
