Sunrisers Hyderabad Qualify Into IPL 2024 Playoffs As Delhi Capitals Face Elimination
IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad qualify into the tournament's playoffs whereas Delhi Capitals get knocked out of the tournament.
IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) became the third team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament. SRH’s most recent match of the league, against Gujarat Titans, got washed out due to rain resulting in points being shared. With 15 points in 13 matches after seven wins and 5 losses, Pat Cummins-led SRH are placed third in the IPL 2024 points table. This also means that Delhi Capitals are knocked out of the playoffs qualification race IPL 2024.
Delhi Capitals after winning seven and facing defeats in seven matches, stand fifth in the IPL 2024 points table with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.377. However, what means they have no chances of qualifying into the playoffs and are eliminated is the fact that they have no matches left. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are placed sixth with 12 points in the points table and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are placed fourth with 14 points in 13 matches, and both have their last league game against each other. Since both of them have a better NRR than DC, whoever wins the RCB vs CSK IPL 2024 match, is destined to finish above DC in the IPL 2024 points table.

SRH Qualify To Playoffs For First Time Since 2020
Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified to playoffs of an IPL season for the first time since IPL 2020 where, captained by David Warner, they finished third in the points table, They were defeated by Delhi Capitals in the second Qualifier match which ended their IPL journey. SRH, led by Warner, won their maiden IPL title back in 2016, where they defeated the Virat Kohli-led RCB in the final match of the tournament.
Coming to the IPL 2024, SRH have one more match to go, and if they win it, they can finish in the top-two of the IPL 2024 points table. However, that depends on Rajasthan Royals’ last league match, as if they win, they are set to finish second.
