IPL 2024: Major 'Knee Injury Update' On CSK Legend MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni has reportedly recovered from his knee injury and is under rehab and training sessions.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has reportedly nursed and recovered from his long-time prevailing knee injury and has now started his rehab and training sessions. The positive update comes from the CSK's CEO Kasi Viswanathan, who was delighted and full of optimism when he delivered the information to the ANI on December 23.
"He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes, started training. By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play," said Kasi Viswanathan.
However, speaking regarding MS Dhoni wasn't the only information delivered by the CSK CEO, he was also delighted with the auction Chennai Super Kings had on December 19. After the purchases of World Cup star Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand, and his compatriot Daryll Mitchell, alongside young sensation Sameer Rizvi and former player Shardul Thakur, Kasi Viswanath seemed to have a successful auction.
"We were keen on Mitchell. He had done really well in the ICC Cricket World Cup. But we knew that it was risky, we could lose the opportunity to have him since he had done so well. At the end of the day, we are happy to have him," said the CSK CEO.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni didn't have a much successful IPL with the bat but certainly had a really successful as his side clinched a fifth Indian Premier League title from the jaws of defeat as they thumped Gujarat Titans in a last-ball thriller of the IPL 2023 Final.
"If you circumstantially see it is the best time to announce the retirement. The easy thing for me to say is thank you and retire. But the hard thing to do is to work hard for nine months and try to play one more IPL season. The body has to hold up. But with the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to play one more season. The way they have shown their love and emotion, it is something I need to do for them," said the legendary skipper after having an emotional IPL Final.
