WATCH: RCB Dugout Bows Down, Gives Standing Ovation To 'Centurion' Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a thumping eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and now are one win away from making it to the IPL 2023 Playoffs.

The 65th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday (May 19). In this match, the visiting team, Bangalore, registered a thumping eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and now are one win away from making it to the IPL 2023 Playoffs. Not just one but two players scored centuries in SRH vs RCB IPL 2023 match. In the first innings, SRH's Heinrich Klaasen played a scintillating 51-ball 104-run innings, while in the 2nd innings RCB's Virat Kohli (63-ball 100) scored his maiden ton in IPL 2023, first since 2019. This was the third instance in IPL where two players scored tons in the same match, and the first time when a player from each side got one.

Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on social media in which the entire RCB dugout gave a standing ovation to Virat Kohli to acknowledge his blistering innings vs SRH.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 186 runs for loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, giving RCB a target of 187 runs for the win. In reply, openers Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis gave RCB a tremendous start. The duo stitched a solid 172-run partnership for the first wicket with RCB eventually winning the match by 8 wickets in 19.2 overs.

By virtue of this century, Kohli equaled Chris Gayle in terms of scoring most centuries in IPL. Virat Kohli had earlier scored a century in IPL in the year 2019. He is now the fourth-highest run-getter in list of players who have scored the most runs in IPL 2023. Kohli has so far scored 538 runs in 13 IPL innings at an average of 44.83.  RCB captain Faf du Plessis (702 runs in 13 innings at an average of 58.50), at present, tops the Orange Cap list.
