Both the teams have not won a single IPL Final in last 15 seasons. Ahead of the high-octane RCB vs DC IPL 2023 match, former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli met Delhi Capitals (DC) coach Ricky Ponting and his son William Fletcher on the sidelines of the tournament. Talking about the 16th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, under captaincy of South African batting legend Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently placed in the seventh position in IPL 2023 points table after winning only one match out of three matches. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, are yet to register their first win in the ongoing tournament. DC is being led by David Warner in the absence of regular skipper Rishabh Pant.
