After CSK Lifts Another IPL Trophy, Sadhguru's Chat With Chris Gayle Goes Viral — WATCH
An old video of Sadhguru in which he rates CSK as his favourites team during an interaction with Chris Gayle has resurfaced.
The sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an end with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beating the Gujarat Titans (GT) in a rain-hit final to emerge as the champions. CSK's win helped them equal Mumbai Indians (MI) record of the most number of IPL titles with both franchises now having five championships to their name. Following the Men in Yellow's last-ball victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the wee hours of Tuesday (May 30), an old video of Sadhguru backing CSK as his favourite team during a chat with ex-Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Chris Gayle has gone viral.
In the short clip which has resurfaced, the West Indies cricketing icon is seen asking Sadhguru, "Which is your favourite IPL team?" Sadhguru laughs and says, "Of course, it’s the Chennai Team." In the latter part of the video, Sadhguru also says that it is the CSK captain MS Dhoni who has made the difference for most successful team in the history of the competition.
Speaking of an incident wherein KKR sought his blessings, Sadhguru recollected, “Last time when the KKR team was in the finals, and they called me and said, ‘Sadhguru, you must bless our team.’ I said, ‘Who is playing against you?’ They said, ‘Chennai.’ I said, ‘See, this is one thing I cannot do,” to which both of them burst into laughter.

Talking about the IPL 2023 final, it was a thrilling fair which went down to the last ball. CSK invited GT to bat first with Dhoni wanting to chase owing to the weather forecast showing the possibility of rain later in the evening. The home team then went on to post 214/4, the highest score that has ever been made in an IPL final riding on a 96 off 47 from Sai Sudharsan and a 39-ball 54 from Wriddhiman Saha. With rain coming into the picture, CSK were given a revised target of 171 in 15 overs.
The match swayed one way and the other before it came down to 10 needed off 2 balls and Ravindra Jadeja on strike. The CSK all-rounder smashed a six and a four to help his side script a memorable win.
