New Delhi: England's star pacer Mark Wood recently underwent surgery on his elbow in London. He was ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after he injured his elbow during England vs West Indies 1st Test. Wood was slated to play for the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2022, but was eventually replaced by Andrew Tye after the injury.
Meanwhile, a hilarious video featuring Wood has gone viral on social media. After waking up from surgery, Mark Wood appeared to be slightly dazed under the influence of anesthesia and was talking gibberish, anything out of context.
“Is my shoulder meant to be sore?” a confused Wood was rambling as he asked this question to the person in the room and after getting a reply, the pace bowler said, “That’s weird though. I’ve have had elbow surgery but my shoulders are aching. I’ll still bowl fast.”
The person asked Wood if he is going to miss this year's IPL to which the star England bowler said, "I’m so sad!". However, Wood, out of nowhere, suddenly remembered England’s former head coach Andy Flower. "I like Andy Flower, he is a nice guy," Wood hilarious said.
The video of Woods' hilarious ramblings while being under the influence of anesthesia was posted by Barmy Army's official handle on Twitter.
