Ind vs Eng: Ravindra Jadeja Attains Big Test Feat, Joins Kapil Dev, Imran Khan In Elite List

Ind vs Eng, 1st Test in England: Ravindra Jadeja has become the fifth fastest player in Test cricket to score 2000 runs and take 200 wickets. He attained the big Test feat in just 53 Test matches.

Indian cricket team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja attained 2000 runs and 200 wickets combo, in just 53 Tests, on the third day of the India vs England first Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Friday.

After the dismissal of wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, Jadeja came out to bat at No. 7 when team India was 38 runs behind England's first innings score. The star all-roudner showcased brilliant batting skills as he stitched an unbroken 46-run stand with opener KL Rahul to power India to 191/5 at lunch on Day 3 with a 8 run lead.

Ravindra Jadeja scored 56 runs off 86 balls against England on Friday. With this, Jadeja has become the fifth fastest player in Test cricket to score 2000 runs and take 200 wickets. He attained the big Test feat in just 53 Test matches.

England's Ian Botham (42 Tests), India's Kapil Dev (50 Tests), Pakistan's Imran Khan (50 Tests) and India's R Ashwin (51 Tests) are ahead of him in this elite list. Jadeja is now the fifth Indian player after Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and R Ashwin to achieve this unique feat.

Team India has strengthened its position in the India vs England first Test being played at Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham.  In reply to England's 183 runs, team India scored 278 runs in 84.5 overs at Stumps on Day 3. Opener KL Rahul scored the highest 84 runs for India. Jadeja contributed with a valuable innings of 56 runs and in the end, small but important innings played by Shami, Siraj and Bumrah, helped India take the lead over England.
