The match ended in a draw but the result ensured England move to top spot in Pool D on account of a better goal difference than India. The Men in Blue are slated to face Wales in their final Group match on January 19 in Bhubaneswar while England will go up against Spain.
After starting their campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win over Spain, the Blues failed to attain a second win in their second Pool D match of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup.

Harmanpreet Singh-led India gave a tough fight to England, not allowing the visitors to net a single goal. During the match, England got 8 and India got 3 penalty corners, but both the teams failed to convert it into goals and had to settle for a draw.
