Former Indian Cricketer and UP Minister Chetan Chauhan Put On Ventilator Support After Health Becomes Critical

Chauhan had recovered well after testing positive for Covid-19 in July but his condition deteriorated yesterday night and hence needed to be put on ventilator.

Chetan Chauhan, a former Indian Test opener and currently a serving minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government, was put on ventilator support on Friday night after his health condition became critical. Chauhan had recovered well after testing positive for Covid-19 in July but his condition deteriorated yesterday night and hence needed to be put on ventilator. Cheten Chauhan's health worsened after he developed multi-organ failure and remains on ventilator support at Medanta hospital in Gurugram. As per the latest updates on his health by hospital authorities, his condition improved a bit but still remained critical Chauhan played 40 Tests between 1969 and 1978 for India and formed one of the most successful partnerships with 'Little Master' Sunil Gavaskar in red ball cricket. He was also vice president of DDCA for 13 years before his foray into politics. He is presently holding the portfolios of Home Guards, Civil  Security and Sainik Welfare in Yogi Adiyanath's cabinet. Opening the batting for India in 40 Test matches, Chauhan scored 2084 runs at a decent average of 31.57. He also played seven ODIs for India in which he scored 153 runs. Chauhan was a prolific run scorer at the first class level for Delhi and Maharashtra for nearly two decades.
