The victory also marks Virgil Van Dijk's firs ever trophy as captain for Liverpool FC, and the Dutchman did it in some style by putting on a captain's performance by leading his side to a famous victory. With this, Liverpool are now a 10-time League Cup winner and become the first ever team to win the competition 10 times.

Liverpool FC played Chelsea FC at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. Almost 89,000 people were recorded in attendance for the grand final, as the stage was set for both the coaches to do justice to their own stories.
