Manchester City Beat Southampton: Manchester City extend their unbeaten run in 2024/25 season, as an early goal from Erling Haaland delivers a hard-fought 1-0 win against relegation-threatened side Southampton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

With the win, the reigning Premier League champions go top of the table, but can lose their spot to Liverpool, if the latter manages to beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the blockbuster fixture on Sunday, October 27.

Southampton Extend Winless Run In Premier League; On Verge Of Creating Unwanted History

Southampton FC were relegated from the league in 2022/23 season but have now returned to the top division after attaining promotion from Championship in 2023/24 season.

However, their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City now means that the 'Saints' are winless in their last 22 Premier League games, and now carry the third-longest winless run in the league's history.

Southampton now trail the winless runs of Derby County (32 games in 2007/08 season) and Sunderland (26 games from 2002 to 2005), and it's high time for Russell Martin's men to up-the-ante, if they are to avoid further embarrassment.
