England vs Iran Highlights: Bellingham, Saka, Grealish, Sterling, and Rashford were the stars for England as the Three-Lions start their FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign in style, defeating Iran 6-2 in the Group B match of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Khalifa International Stadium.

For England, Bukayo Saka scored a brace, while Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, Jude Bellinghamand Raheem Sterling scored one goal apiece. Mehdi Taremi scored both goals for Iran.

The pressure was always on match favorites England as they could not afford a slow start against the Islamic republic. Why, you ask? England, in their upcoming matches, are lined up to clash against tougher opponents in group B. The Three Lions will lock horns with good teams like United States and Wales. England will play their second match in Group B on Friday, against United States and their final Group B match on November 29, against Wales.

At last year's European championship, England reached their first major final after a long gap of 55 years. A dominant performance in their World Cup opener has helped England get the much-needed confidence in their mission to end decade-long World Cup trophy drought. 

The Islamic Republic has never beaten European opposition at the FIFA World Cup. Today, England, for the second time, clashed against an Asian opposition at the FIFA World Cup, previously defeating Kuwait 1-0 (1982).
