The Ashes 2021: 'Quarantine Rules In Australia Are Rubbish' - Pietersen Talks About Cancelling Ashes

The Ashes 2021: According to Pietersen, players are now done with the bio-bubbles. He said, If the quarantine rules are not made easy, the Ashes should not be played in these conditions.

The Ashes 2021: Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has termed the quarantine rules applicable for the upcoming Ashes series in Australia as 'rubbish'. He said that if he were part of the England team at the moment, he would have never gone to Australia to play the Ashes. At the same time, Pietersen said that, If the quarantine rules are not made easy, the Ashes series should not be played in these conditions. The first Test of the Ashes series is scheduled to be played in Gaba, Brisbane on December 8.

It may be noted that due to covid-19, strict quarantine rules are in place for the Ashes series to be held in Australia. Players may not be allowed to travel with their families even on the two-month-long tour. In addition, all the borders are closed, and travelers are not allowed to visit Australia.

Players are fed up with bio-bubble life.

According to Pietersen, the players are now troubled by the bio-bubble life. He wrote on Twitter, "If I were still playing for England, I would not have gone to Australia to play the Ashes. Unless they allow me to take my family with me and squash these nonsense rules of quarantine there. The players are now fed up with the bio-bubbles."

Many key players may withdraw from the Ashes.

It may be noted that this Australian tour of England will last for about two months, where five Test matches of the series will be played. This means that players will have to stay in the bio-bubble for a long time once again after the T20 World Cup here. It is believed that many key players in the England team may withdraw from the Ashes series if they are not allowed to take the family along.

At the same time, lockdown conditions are still prevalent in most places in Australia, which could lead to a number of restrictions on the movement of players. Cricket Australia is currently in talks with the England and Wales Cricket Board to find a solution.
