Team India Head Coach Ravi Shastri's 'Massive Salary Hike' Revealed: Report

The massive hike will take India head coach Ravi Shastri's annual salary close to Rs. 9.5-10 crore

According to several media reports, Ravi Shastri is expected to get a hike of 20 per cent in his annual CTC after the renewal of his contract as the Indian men's cricket team head coach. As per a report by Mumbai Mirror, the massive hike will take Shastri's annual salary close to Rs. 9.5-10 crore. The 57-year-old was earlier earning about Rs 8 crore. The report further stated that the support staff is also expected to get a hike. Bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar are expected to get Rs 3.5 crore each, while newly-appointed batting coach Vikram Rathour will get an annual salary between Rs. 2.5-3 crore. BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) re-appointed Ravi Shastri as Team India’s head coach till November 24, 2021. Shastri had expressed that by the end of this tenure, he wants to see a smooth transition taking place with the set-up. “The reason why I came in here is the belief I had in this team, the belief that they could leave a legacy which very few teams have left behind which other teams going down will try and emulate. That is the desire. We are on track. There's always room for improvement and with youth coming around, we can be sure of exciting times in the near future,”said the Indian head coach. “Next two years is to see the smooth transition happening. You will get a lot of youngsters coming—in both white-ball setup and Tests. You need to identify another three-four bowlers to add to the pool by the end of our tenure. My endeavour by the end of this tenure would be to leave the team in a happier space so that they can set a legacy in the time to come,” said Shastri.
