Sachin Tendulkar Comes Up With Heartwarming Wish To Anil Kumble On His Special Day

Kumble concluded his astonishing cricketing career with a remarkable record of 619 Test wickets and 337 wickets in one-day internationals (ODIs).

Sachin Tendulkar expressed warm wishes to Anil Kumble as the renowned Indian spinner celebrated his 53rd birthday on Tuesday, October 17. Anil Kumble is a cricket legend, well-known for his exceptional right-arm leg spin bowling, and has left an indelible mark on Indian and international cricket throughout his illustrious career.

Tendulkar conveyed his heartfelt greetings to Kumble on his special day on X (formerly Twitter). The cricket icon reflected on their long-standing relation and how fortunate he felt to have played alongside Kumble for the Indian cricket team. Tendulkar also lauded Kumble for embodying the true spirit of the game.

"I have known Anil for a long time, and I am so fortunate that we went on to play together for so many years for India. A man who truly championed the spirit of the game and had the grit to perform no matter what.  Happy birthday, my friend.", Tendulkar expressed in his tweet.

Kumble concluded his astonishing cricketing career with a remarkable record of 619 Test wickets and 337 wickets in one-day internationals (ODIs). His tally of 619 Test wickets remains unmatched, establishing him as the highest wicket-taker among Indian bowlers.

One of the most remarkable moments in Kumble's career occurred in 1999 when he achieved the rare feat of taking ten wickets in a single innings against Pakistan. On the back of his extraordinary performance, he grabbed a place in cricket history, joining hands with the esteemed company of Jim Laker as one of only two cricketers to achieve such a feat in red ball format.

Kumble's significant contributions to the sport were further recognized when he was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2015. Additionally, he took on the role of coaching the Indian cricket team for a brief period. During his coaching tenure, India achieved notable success, triumphing in the Test series against the West Indies, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, and Australia.

Back on April 24, 2023, Anil Kumble wished Sachin Tendulkar on his 50th birthday mentioning “Welcome to the club.” in his tweet. The legendary spinner also mentioned how Tendulkar’s contribution to the game is immeasurable.
