'We've Gone Through CCTV...': David Warner Releases Emotional Video After Backpack Gets Stolen. WATCH

David Warner expressed his distress over the incident and appealed to the public for any information that could help in the recovery of his belongings.

Australia opener David Warner took to his Instagram handle to make an emotional plea for the return of his stolen backpack. The backpack, which included his cherished baggy green, was allegedly taken from his luggage on the eve of his farewell Test match in Sydney, scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Warner expressed his distress over the incident and appealed to the public for any information that could help in the recovery of his belongings.

"Hi everyone, David Warner here. Unfortunately, this is my last resort to do this. But a couple of days ago, our bags got freighted via Qantas," Warner said in the video.

"We've gone through CCTV footage. They've got some blind spots, apparently. We spoke to the Quay West Hotel, who we absolutely trust, and have gone through their cameras. No one's came into our rooms, but unfortunately someone has taken my backpack out of my actual luggage, which had my backpack and my girls' presents in there.

"Inside this backpack was baggy green. It's sentimental to me, and something that I would love to have back in my hands walking out there come this week.

"If it's the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here, You won't get into trouble. Please reach out to Cricket Australia or myself via my social media, and I am happy to give this to you if you return my baggy greens. Thank you."

David Warner, who recently announced his retirement from ODIs, will play his farewell Test on his home ground Sydney, with Australia aiming for a 3-0 series whitewash against Pakistan by winning PAK vs AUS 3rd Test. The match will kickstart from January 3 onwards.
