There were strong speculations that KKR star Rinku Singh was one of the frontrunners for an India call-up for IND vs WI T20 series but his snub certainly left his fans heartbroken.

The Ajit Agarkar-led committee on Wednesday (July 5) announced a star-studded 15-member squad for India vs West Indies 5-match T20 International series, set to kickstart next month in the Caribbean and the USA. In absence of senior figures Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya continues to lead the national team in the shortest format. Mumbai's Yashasvi Jaiswal and Hyderabad’s Tilak Varma earned well-deserved maiden call-ups to India's T20 team after their impressive performances in IPL 2023. The selectors clearly wanted to make a transitional shift, picking some young and raw talent ahead of the T20 World Cup next year.

Meanwhile, the selection committee ignoring Aligarh-born Rinku Singh, who scored 400 runs in 14 IPL to become the highest scorer for KKR in this year's IPL, caused an uproar on social media. There were strong speculations that Rinku was one of the frontrunners for an India call-up for IND vs WI T20 series but his snub certainly left his fans heartbroken.
