MI Vs KKR, IPL 2025 Match 12: Highlights
MI won the coin toss and elected to bowl first, as the five-time champions were playing their first home game of the season. A red soil pitch with a covering of grass, it was expected to be a run-fest, but the MI bowlers made full use of the new ball, by utilising swinging conditions to inflict early jitters on KKR.
Sunil Narine departed for a golden duck, followed by a cheap dismissal of Quinton De Kock. Apart from Angkrish Raghuvanshi, no other KKR batter looked convincing enough to steer the side towards a competitive total.
Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar combined for three wickets, as KKR's top-order crumbled under pressure, and the middle-order also failed to live up to the billing.
Impact sub Manish Pandey too, failed to leave an impact, as MI debutant Ashwani Kumar grabbed 4 wickets to allow his side to establish pure dominance on the game. KKR were bundled out for 116, leaving MI a target of 117.
In reply, MI openers got off to a flying start, but former skipper Rohit Sharma once again failed to leave a mark on the game.
Ryan Rickelton's unbeaten 62, alongside Suryakumar Yadav's 9-ball 27 inspired MI to a sensational win inside 12.5 overs.
